Nora McCarthy, SPHR

Nora McCarthyA seasoned human resources professional, Nora McCarthy has in-depth experience in a wide variety of industries including union and non-union manufacturing, service, technology, and not-for-profit. She has worked with Fortune 50 companies as well as growth-phase small businesses.

As Vice President of Human Resources for Tuthill Corporation, Nora headed up human resources for a global, diversified manufacturer with 2,500 employees in 29 locations and 10 countries. As part of the leadership team she successfully aligned all aspects of HR with corporate strategies and a culture change initiative -- “Conscious Company” -- and provided a broad-based perspective to create meaningful employee engagement, improved profitability and enhanced internal processes.

As Director of Human Resources for the National Education Training Group (Applied Learning/Deltak), Nora was responsible for over 1,000 employees at the corporate headquarters, 35 branch sales offices and two subsidiaries. For E-II Consumer Products, Inc. (Beatrice Companies) Nora McCarthy managed 35 pension plans and over 64 health and welfare plans for a diverse group of consumer products manufacturing companies. Nora was actively involved in the due diligence process related to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

In 1991, Nora established her own human resources consulting firm and in 1993 co-founded the HRLink Group, an alliance of independent human resources consultants. By working in teams, and sharing resources and information, HRLink consultants are able to provide customized services to meet the project requirements for clients of all sizes.

Nora holds a BS degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her experience in human resources consulting spans generalist human resources functions and specialized experience including: HR strategy; on-site HR management; candidate search and recruiting, compensation; benefits; employee communications; affirmative action planning; government and regulatory compliance audits; HR process improvement; and development of policy and procedure manuals and employee handbooks.
